We have displayed these on the writing wall in the hub if you would like to come and read them.

These will be sent home at the end of next week.

Pyjamas for Swimming - FRIDAY

Please remember that all children will require long pyjamas to wear in the pool tomorrow. No onesies please, as they have to remove these in the water. Which also means that they still need their togs too :-D

Also, a few children have mentioned that it is mufti day tomorrow. Just to remind you that mufti day has been cancelled.

Christmas Cards

Hi Everyone,

Our gorgeous Christmas cards are ready to be sold! We have been working very hard on these over the last few weeks and the finished products are amazing!

You will be able to purchase your child's cards before school or after school each day next week.

The cost is a gold coin donation which can be given to your child's home group teacher or Jill.

Note, If your child has been absent on a Friday afternoon this term, they will not have a full pack of 5 cards. This money will go towards an ice-block for your child at our end of year shared picnic and fun day (13th December).

Thanks for your support!

Mufti Day and Basic Facts-a-thon

Hi Everyone,

This is a notification to let you know that the mufti day this Friday in support of The Salvation Army has been cancelled. We will still be collecting non-perishable food items for them up until Friday.

Please remember to bring back to school the basic facts-a-thon sponsorship forms tomorrow. :) After the test on Friday, we will write the number of correct answers on their sponsorship form, and send the forms home again so they can collect the money. Thank you in advance for your effort with gathering sponsors. It has been lovely to see how much progress the children have made over the last 4 weeks!

Healthy Lunch in Korimako Today

Today our tamariki went to enjoy their healthy lunches in the Korimako hub.

The year 5/6 tamariki in Miss Burtenshaw's home group did a fantastic job of making and delivering the kai.

Our Pukeko tamariki loved it!

Learning Algebra in Pukeko

Our tamariki have been learning pre-algebra in maths for the last couple of weeks.

Today, the Pukeko Matheson maths group shared their patterns with the Pukeko Kidd maths group, and challenged them to complete them.

Sharing Letters with the Pukeko Nest

Our tamariki recently completed a writing activity to teach our tamariki in the Pukeko Nest about how to stay safe. They wrote letters to the Nest tamariki, and read them to them.

Pukeko Shared Lunch - This Thursday!

Kia Ora Everyone,

This is a reminder that we are having a shared lunch on Thursday this week and you are invited to join us! This is to celebrate our learning about Healthy Eating this term.

We kindly ask for your support in this celebration of healthy eating by bringing in or sending to school a healthy lunch option that your child can share with others in the hub. For example, cheese and onion muffins, fruit kebabs or vegetables sticks with a healthy dip. We recommend that you only make enough to fill a normal sized dinner plate. Teachers will be providing a healthy smoothie option for the children.

The foods we have been learning about include spinach, onion, salmon, mushrooms, oranges, cauliflower, carrots and rice. It would be wonderful if you could incorporate one of these into your food but it is not compulsory.

We will eat inside the Pukeko Hub from 12:30 -1:00pm within our home groups and share the food that everyone has made. We recommend that you also send lunch to school with your child in their lunch box in case they do not want to eat the food provided.

Thank you in advance for your time and effort and we will see you on Thursday if possible!

Healthy Eating Week 9

This week was our last session on Healthy Eating for the term. The children learnt all about rice and got to try some with soy sauce, which they loved! Don't forget we have our shared lunch next Thursday 28th September to celebrate our learning. We kindly ask each child to bring a plate of healthy food that they can share with their peers.

Kia Ora whanau,

We have had such a fun afternoon today! We learnt all about kāroti
(carrot) and tried eating carrot sticks with hummus. This was a huge success and even the hummus went down well. A huge well done to Peyton and Brodie from Mrs M's home group, who were both hesitant to try our food but gave it a go! Karawhiua!

What's For Lunch - Cauliflower - Week 7

This week our tamariki learned about cauliflower, and got the chance to try some cauliflower with dip. Most of our tamariki tried it, even if they said they didn't normally like it. Tau kē!
